Following József Tajti, Budapest Honvéd is mourning another former footballer. Gyula Tóth has died in his 81st year. He played for the Kispest club between 1966 and 1972.
He began his career with the team from Salomvár near Zalalövő in the district championship before moving to Szombathelyi Haladás in NB I/B. He signed for Kispest in 1966 and was already named in the starting line-up in the opening round. During his years in Kispest he made 118 league appearances in the Honvéd colours. He was part of the team that finished runners-up in 1969 and 1972 and third in 1970. He played in two cup finals with Honvéd. In 1972 he moved to Zalaegerszeg, where he played until retirement.
Rest in peace, Uncle Gyula. We will preserve your memory forever.
