Kispest Football House
Everyone is welcome at the Kispest Football House!
In 2014, our district—and through it, the whole of Hungarian football—was enriched with a permanent and ever-evolving football museum.
That was when the Kispest Football House opened its doors, bringing the history of Budapest Honvéd FC and its predecessors to life. The exhibition pays special tribute to the heroic era of the club founded in 1909 as Kispesti AC, the unbeatable team of the 1950s led by Ferenc Puskás (which was also the proud era of the Golden Team), as well as the trophy-laden sides of the 1980s, and naturally, the club's present day.
Countless items await our visitors: medals, trophies, photographs, jerseys, documents, and other relics, all testifying to the glorious moments of Kispest football.
How did a football team from a small town near Budapest become a world-famous institution of the 19th district?
Kispest or Honvéd? What world records are held by Ferenc Puskás, Lajos Tichy, and Lajos Détári? How was the European Champion Clubs' Cup (now the Champions League) founded?
Which club won the world's first penalty shootout? Why do all the clocks in the museum show 19:09?
Naturally, we answer these questions as well, and in the meantime, you can try out the custom-painted Honvéd foosball table, where only Kispest can triumph!
Take a selfie with the lifelike, artistic graffiti (e.g., Puskás, Détári) and with Leo I and Leo II, the club's mascot lions now resting in the Football House.
The Kispest Football House is not only fascinating for Honvéd supporters; any football fan, or even those less familiar with the game, can spend an enjoyable time in our museum.

The Kispest Football House opened its doors in 2014 after several years of preparatory work, through the cooperation of the district Municipality and the Association for the Support of Kispest Football (KLTE). The historic building on Fő utca was renovated and furnished through volunteer work by KLTE members and our supporters. Some offered their expertise, others donated materials and furnishings, and others gave their hard work for this noble cause. Such unity is a rarity not only in Hungary, but internationally as well.
We continuously receive memorabilia from fans and former players. Most of the artifacts comprising the exhibition were donated to our museum.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you if you can support our exhibition with any KAC, Kispest FC, Budapesti Honvéd, or Kispest Honvéd memorabilia.
