Born in Székesfehérvár, Csontos played for Videoton, Főnix Gold and Ferencváros before beginning his senior career. In November 2019, at not quite 17 years of age, he made his top-flight debut for the green-and-whites against Debreceni VSC. He was given one more appearance by Serhiy Rebrov that season, in his home city of Fehérvár. A season later, he came on as a substitute against Budafok and also scored in the top flight, before moving to Soroksár on loan. Able to play in several positions in both defence and midfield, he started the 2022-23 season with Soroksár but continued the winter in Győr. As a key player there, he celebrated promotion one season later, recording three goals in 28 league matches. In the following campaign he played four more matches for Győr – starting each one – before ZTE signed him, although the defender did not make an appearance for the blue-and-whites. After Gergő Rácz, Patrik Pinte, Bonifác Csonka and Ákos Baki, Csontos is Honvéd's fifth winter arrival.
“I am very happy to be here and glad that this transfer could happen. I am well aware that I have joined a club with a huge history and that is a great honour for me. The fact that the club can build on such a large fan base represents enormous potential and is very important in the long term. I have come here with serious ambitions, because I want to play in the first division together with the club. The supporters deserve us to repay their backing with good football, but above all with results. I can hardly wait to step onto the pitch and prove myself” – Dominik told our official website after signing his contract.
