As is known, Budapest Honvéd recorded a 4-1 victory away to Tatabánya in Round 17 of the Merkantil Bank Liga. Zsombor Bévárdi , who scored the opening goal of the match, found the net for the first time in a competitive game in Kispest colours, while two of our new signings, Dominik Csontos and Patrik Pinte, also celebrated goals (Zoltán Medgyes's strike was ultimately recorded by the MLSZ as an own goal by Harsányi). Csontos scored one of the finest goals of the round and his first for Honvéd, while Pinte registered his second goal in his second match for our team. Despite the emphatic victory, our head coach Tamás Feczkó assessed what he had seen objectively.
"In the first thirty minutes we played at a very low level. We needed the home side's goal to wake the team up and go on to win the match. After that, we passed the test of fighting spirit with flying colours and collected the second balls much better. Our second-half performance was already similar to the way we played last week. We played much better against Budafok, yet we were unable to pick up a point. I am very happy that, as a real team – including those who came on from the bench – everyone was able to contribute to the result" – Feczkó said at the post-match press conference.
"Based on the first half, the result is not realistic, but in the second half they left bigger spaces behind them and we have quick players who are deadly on the counter-attack. We converted almost every opportunity we had, the key moments went our way and we also had some luck with the second goal. We are very happy that we have taken a small step towards achieving our goals" - he added.
