According to the decision of the DC (disciplinary council), our club breached Sections 39(1) and 40(1) of the Disciplinary Regulations. Therefore, in addition to imposing a financial penalty, the DC ordered “the closure of sector “B5” of the Bozsik Aréna for 1 (one) upcoming home NB II men’s senior full-size-pitch league match. The sector-closure sanction is suspended for a period of 6 (six) months by the DC under Section 10(5)(a)(b) of the Disciplinary Regulations. This means that if we commit another disciplinary offence within the next six months, the sanction will come into effect.
Based on the federation inspector’s report on the match, the DC established that during the Budapest Honvéd FC–Tiszakécskei LC NB II men’s senior full-size-pitch match, supporters of the home team engaged in discriminatory conduct when, in the 45th minute, they shouted the chant “b..i Bódi” ten times.
In connection with the racist manifestation, the DC wishes to emphasise that both in MLSZ practice and that of the international federations, the principle of zero tolerance applies to discriminatory manifestations in any form, and very strict sanctioning principles are applied when such cases are adjudicated – this also applies to the expression mentioned above.
We draw our supporters’ attention to the fact that any further repetition of such offences within six months may result in more severe sanctions: closure of a sector, one or more matches being played behind closed doors, deduction of points, prohibition on staging matches in a particular stadium, the match being declared forfeited, exclusion from the competition, or relegation to a lower division. In a given case, several of the above sanctions may be imposed together.
It is in our common interest for as many of our supporters as possible to be able to cheer on the team from the stands, both at home and away. We therefore ask everyone to refrain from racist and discriminatory remarks and chants in the future. Together we are stronger!
