Last week's wave of injuries severely decimated the squad, so it was no surprise that our side played through the top-of-the-table clash without any substitutes. The list of absentees was remarkably long: Bábik, Zana, Lannert, Andric, Youla, Patkó, Trembulyák, Sánta, and Máj were all sidelined due to injury or illness.
Despite the unfavorable circumstances, the team started well. With no substitute players on the bench, there was a looming fear that another injury would put us in a very tough spot. The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute (0–1), but it took only five minutes to find the equalizer. Amid a scramble following a corner, Erdei reacted quickest and fired into the net (1–1). In the 28th minute, Kamber turned the scoreline around: cutting inside from the left wing, he slotted the ball into the far corner from 12 meters (2–1). The match dynamic didn't change after the break. Although the home side threw everything at it, our players fought with boundless enthusiasm and tremendous heart. In goal, Danilovic slammed the door shut, thwarting every single attempt.
Both teams put on a good match. Our boys played with discipline, focus, and immense heart. A fine testament to Kispest's determination came when Gábor Kovács suffered a muscle pull fifteen minutes before the final whistle, yet refused to leave the pitch and played on injured. Given the circumstances, our team pulled off a brilliant victory at Pénzügyőr's Kőér utca grounds!
Pénzügyőr still lead the table, but with this win, we have cut the deficit from nine points to six. Furthermore, our side still has a game in hand against Monor.
