As we reported earlier, from the 2026–2027 season Maurizio Jacobacci will take charge of our team. Our new head coach began work on Monday: after the summer break, our players started pre-season with group training sessions and the usual physical assessments. The head coach will be supported by a partly renewed coaching staff in the period ahead. Below we introduce the staff members and the most important changes.
István Márton will be replaced by Attila Polonkai, who will serve as an assistant coach with our team. The former Hungary international is familiar with the Kispest environment, having contributed to youth development at our academy as the coach responsible for individual development. He began his playing career at BVSC and also represented Vasas, Újpest and Videoton, among others, before playing for Felcsút between 2012 and 2018. In 2011 he won the league title with the Székesfehérvár side. Attila Polonkai also brings considerable NB I coaching experience: the 47-year-old specialist spent five years at Felcsút working under Zsolt Hornyák, then assisted Tamás Pető at Videoton FC Fehérvár. István Paulik will remain with our club and, working together with Attila Polonkai, will continue to contribute to the professional work as an assistant coach.
Going forward, Botond Antal will be responsible for goalkeeper coaching. Between 2007 and 2010 he was a goalkeeper at English club Watford, after which he returned to Hungary and joined Kecskemét, winning the Hungarian Cup with the club. He spent a significant part of his career at DVTK, keeping goal for the Miskolc side for seven years. After retiring, he began his coaching career in South Korea and soon afterwards received an opportunity in Kuwait. He first worked as technical director at Villarreal's satellite academy, then joined the coaching staff of Kuwait's U23 national team, where he was responsible for preparing the Olympic team's goalkeepers.
Our players' physical preparation will continue to be supported by fitness coach Péter Tepliczky, while Soma Kovács will continue in his role as video analyst.
