The versatile defender can be used in several positions across the back line, with our coaching staff primarily viewing him as a centre-back and left-back.
García developed in Deportivo Alavés's youth system from 2018, while several loan spells also aided his progress: he represented CD Laredo, San Ignacio and CD Tropezón.
In the summer of 2022 he signed for Elche CF, where he made 28 competitive appearances for the reserve team before joining Arenas Club de Getxo in the Spanish third tier. Interestingly, there are several parallels with the Basque club: like Honvéd, they were founded in 1909, and their crest also features a red-and-black colour combination. He was a regular starter for his team last season, making 31 league appearances while also registering three goals and one assist.
Pablo García brings further stability and greater tactical flexibility to our defence.
“It is a tremendous opportunity to play for such a historic club with such a rich tradition. Moving abroad is always a major challenge for a player, but I hope this will become a defining period of my career. I can play in several positions in defence, but I simply do my job and play wherever the coach needs me. When the opportunity first came up, Hungary was still a little unfamiliar to me. After arriving, however, I saw the opportunities available at Honvéd, what a beautiful stadium the club has, and I also had the chance to get to know Budapest a little. I am very grateful that I can continue developing in this environment.”
Welcome to Honvéd, Pablo!
