As is known, our first team found the net twice against Sturm Graz II on Friday afternoon through Kovács Erik and Medgyes Zoltán, allowing us to leave Wildon with a 2–1 victory. Results-wise, pre-season had gone well so far, but another test awaited our side on Saturday, this time in Slovenia. The next stop in our summer programme took us to Lendava to face NK Nafta Lendava. Although the Slovenian side missed out on the second-tier title in the final round, they drew the first leg of their play-off 0–0 before beating Primorje 1–0 in the return match, earning promotion back to the top flight after one year. The team secured its first-division place under Bozsik József, grandson of our club legend and the man after whom our stadium is named, although the coach left the Lendava bench after three years.
The match began with a chance for Lendava, before Ujváry Ferenc released Zuigeber Ákos a few minutes later, though the home defence cleared his cross. It was a lively start, with chances at both ends inside the opening six minutes. In the 14th minute Tomás Tujvel punched away a Lendava cross, then Kántor Kevin intervened after the hosts' corner. In the 20th minute, another corner produced a cross to the far post where Dragóner Áron tried to glance the ball on, but it went wide. Ten minutes later, Anis Jasaragic's free-kick found a head in the box, but our 42-year-old goalkeeper made an excellent save. Soon afterwards Medgyes broke into a promising position, only for the home goalkeeper to deny his close-range effort. After an evenly contested first half, the teams went into the break goalless.
After the restart the deadlock was broken. In the 52nd minute, at the end of a counterattack, Kántor Kevin backheeled the ball to Zuigeber Ákos, who drove inside from the right and set up Szamosi Ádám, and our 19-year-old midfielder calmly picked out the bottom-right corner (0–1). We did not have to wait long for the second Kispest goal. A few minutes later Zuigeber drove powerfully through the opposition midfield and released Hangya Szilveszter down the left. Instead of crossing, our defender cut the ball back to the arriving Zuigeber, who beat his man and rolled the ball into the net (0–2). After the end of regulation time, Gyurcsó Ádám extended our lead: in added time Varga Bence delivered into the middle, the Lendava defenders failed to clear, and our forward took advantage by steering the ball into the far corner (0–3).
Our team thus won its third pre-season friendly as well. We next take the field on Wednesday, July 8, against Soroksár SC at the Bozsik Arena.
