Budapest Honvéd's squad has been strengthened in attack after our club agreed with ETO FC Győr that Farkas Balázs will play in Kispest on loan during the 2024/2025 season.
“For a long time it was uncertain how my future would develop, and it was decided in the closing stages of the transfer window that Budapest Honvéd would take me on loan for one year. I was very happy about the approach. My goal is to develop, play as much as possible and help the team – began Farkas Balázs. – I know the second division and the teams playing here, so the environment will not be unfamiliar. I will try to settle in as quickly as possible, find my place and contribute to Honvéd's success with goals. Last season I could not play in the matches against Honvéd because of injury. At the end of the championship, in the final five rounds, I was given opportunities and I feel I managed to make the most of them, as I scored three goals. I want to keep collecting playing minutes and I hope I will find what I am looking for in Kispest.“
The 22-year-old, well-built, quick and strong forward began playing football in his home town of Győr at Sasfészek FC, but was already a registered ETO player at the age of nine. After progressing through the ranks, he made his senior debut in NB II at the age of 18. Farkas Balázs has so far played four seasons for Győr's senior team and one for Siófok, scoring 16 goals in 74 NB II matches, while in the current season he has also made six NB I appearances for the green-and-whites.
“I became a senior player in Győr; that was my goal as a child. Then life turned out so that I am now continuing elsewhere, at Honvéd. I want to prove myself and show here too what I am capable of – continued Farkas Balázs. – If I had to highlight one thing, I would mention my fighting spirit, but I am aware that I am young and still need to improve in many areas. That is what I will work on at Honvéd too, to take a step forward day by day. I know Honvéd's history and I know we are talking about a huge club. There are players in the squad I have already played against, so I hope settling in really will go smoothly. I will fight for my place, I want to play as much as possible and score goals. I hope we will have many successful matches and that I can help the team achieve our objectives.“
We warmly welcome Farkas Balázs to Kispest and wish him every success at Honvéd!
