We are delighted to announce that, after Szilveszter Hangya, Ádám Szamosi, István Pekár, Gellért Dúzs and Zoltán Medgyes, Tomás Tujvel will also remain in Kispest after extending his contract, which was due to expire in June, by one year until the summer of 2027.
Tujvel joined our club in the summer of 2019 and has made 142 competitive appearances in all competitions since then. Honvéd is by far the club he has represented most often during his career, and he was also a member of the Hungarian Cup-winning side of the 2019–20 season. At 42, our goalkeeper is the most experienced member of the current squad: he has made the most appearances in Honvéd colours and, with 168 NB I matches behind him, he ranks second in that category (only Branko Pauljevic is ahead of him).
His durability is underlined by the fact that his name was the first on our team sheet in all 30 league matches last season. He conceded 26 goals in those games – tied with Vasas for the fewest in the division – and kept 11 clean sheets.
Tujvel was also one of the standout performers of the season, repeatedly giving the team stability with his saves even in the most intense situations, and in February the club management named him Player of the Month in recognition of his performances.
“I am very happy to be able to stay here in Kispest for another year. I arrived seven years ago, and during that time the club has become my family. Last season we won promotion to NB I, and I want to help the team achieve the best possible result with the best performances I can produce.”
