After a fifteen-day break, we return to NB II action, with Szentlőrinc awaiting our first team.

Supporter information:

  • The match kicks off at 20:00 on Monday, October 21 at the Bozsik Aréna.
  • The match will be broadcast by M4 Sport.
  • Tickets for the match are available in advance at jegy.honvedfc.hu.
  • Tickets can be purchased in person on Thursday from 16:00-20:00 at the Kispesti Futball Ház and on Friday at the Bozsik Aréna ticket offices (14:00-19:00).
  • Tickets are also already available for our league match at Békéscsaba on October 27 and our cup match against Paks on October 31.

What you need to know about our opponents:

Founded: 1912
Club colours: red-black
Current league position: 5th
League record: 9 matches, 4 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat, 12 goals scored, 8 conceded
Head coach: Róbert Waltner

  • Szentlőrinc were founded in 1912, but until 2000 they regularly played in the Baranya county leagues before winning promotion to the NB III. They first appeared in the Second Division in the 2004-05 season, but were immediately relegated. Their return came in 2020, when Érd were unable to take up promotion after the season was cut short by COVID, and Szentlőrinc moved up to the Second Division.
  • The Baranya side established themselves in the NB II, finishing 16th with 42 points in their first season and repeating that placing the following year. At the end of their third season they had to play a relegation play-off against BVSC, which they lost, and were relegated to the NB III in spring 2023.
  • Under Gábor Pichler, Szentlőrinc won the South-Western group and returned to the Second Division after successfully negotiating the play-off against Putnok.
  • Gábor Pichler now has a new role in the club as managing director, with Róbert Waltner becoming the new head coach. He remained unbeaten in his first 7 competitive matches (6 league games and 1 cup match).
  • Szentlőrinc last won a match in regulation time on September 1. Since then they have recorded three draws and two defeats in five matches, most recently drawing 1-1 with NK Varazdin in a friendly last Friday.
  • The team's top scorer is Kristóf Tóth-Gábor with four league goals, and he has also scored once in the cup.
  • Szentlőrinc signed 18 new players over the summer, but team unity developed quickly. One of the keys to their successful performances is their defending, as they have conceded the second-fewest goals in the league.
  • Róbert Waltner's team spent 7 consecutive rounds in one of the top two places in the table, including five successive rounds as league leaders.

SHARED HISTORY:

The two first teams will meet in a league match for the first time.

In March 2022 we hosted Szentlőrinc in a friendly, when goals from Milán Májer and Bence Banó-Szabó answered efforts from Rétyi and Bányai, with the match ending 2-2.

From the players who may also feature on Monday, Tomas Tujvel, Gellért Dúzs and Lukács Bőle played in that match, although Bőle is now a Szentlőrinc player rather than a Kispest player.
