As previously reported, the Hungarian U21 national team played three European Championship qualifiers between September 20 and October 7. Our team faced Croatia, Lithuania, and Turkey, and although their hopes of qualification were dashed following a 3–1 defeat to Croatia, they secured a one-goal victory against Lithuania and a goalless draw against Turkey. The youth national team thus finished fourth in their qualifying group with seven points from eight matches. Our team captain, Ádám Szamosi, came on as a substitute against Croatia and was in the starting lineup against Turkey.
The U21 national team's next schedule will take place between November 9 and 16, 2026, featuring an international friendly match: Antal Németh's squad will face Cyprus on Monday, November 16 at 19:00 at the Új Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion. Once again, our club's 19-year-old midfielder Ádám Szamosi has been selected for the national team.
We congratulate our player and wish him the best of luck!
