Honvéd BKE took to the pitch in Népliget for the final round of the old boys championship already crowned as champions. In typical fashion, our side immediately seized the initiative and created several big chances: Youla missed two and Zana one. As so often happens in football, the missed opportunities came back to haunt us, and the hosts, set up to counter, beat Komora twice. Ferencváros's second goal was greeted by huge celebrations in the stands. The unrestrained joy of the home supporters and bench suggested the green-and-whites believed that after six years – they had last tasted victory against us in 2020 – they might finally beat the Kispest side. But even two goals down, the visitors played only for the win. Zana signalled before half-time that the game was far from over by finding the Fradi net (2–1). After the break, Youla scored twice in ten minutes to turn the match around for Honvéd (2–3). The final score was sealed by a textbook Andrić–Kamber combination: Kamber's thunderous strike from 11 metres crashed off the crossbar and into the net (2–4). Based on the play and chances, our victory could have been even more emphatic, even 8–3. Honvéd BKE ended the season in champion style, finishing nine points ahead of runners-up Ferencváros. Monori SE took the bronze medal. Congratulations to the Honvéd BKE old boys team on the championship title!
