As is known, in the Hungarian Cup semi-final against ZTE FC our team came within touching distance of securing a place in the final, but the tie was ultimately decided by a penalty shootout, with the Zala side celebrating at the end. After the match, our 29-year-old player Bonifác Csonka stressed that what happened had not yet fully sunk in, but it could provide strength for the upcoming league matches.
What happened still has not really sunk in, and I don't think it ever fully will — perhaps we do not even need to process everything and forget it. The sadness and disappointment have rather turned into anger, and if we use that in the right way, it can give us extra strength and energy for the next four matches. I hope the others feel the same and that we can attack the league with everything we have, because there is nothing else left. There is no cup final; a huge opportunity slipped away. Football is ruthless, and now we have experienced that first-hand — it came down to a minute and a half. Playing at the Puskás would have been an enormous dream. From now on, however, we have to be ruthless too and win the league.
On Monday our team will again take the field at the Bozsik Arena, hosting 13th-placed Soroksár SC in Round 27 of the Merkantil Bank Liga.
They have been fighting against relegation, so they have focused on stability. Earlier, under Lipcsei, they played a very passing-oriented style, but now they have simplified it a little. They will definitely prepare specifically for us, but it does not matter what they do: there are four matches left and we have to win all four, at any cost.
