Our U19s were only one point behind Diósgyőr before the round, but the home side kept all three points with a goal from the penalty spot.
DVTK U19–Budapest Honvéd FC U19 1-0
G: Purzsa (62. – penalty)
László Takács, head coach:
"We played a match of very poor quality and tempo. From the beginning the players were sluggish and unfocused. Our play in possession worked reasonably well up to the attacking third, the full-backs were able to get involved freely, but from there we were very inaccurate and made a lot of technical errors. Our defending was fine; apart from one or two individual mistakes they could not break us down. At half-time we tried to shake the players out of this state, but we did not really manage it. As in the first half there were few chances in front of either goal and most of the action was in midfield. DVTK converted a penalty, which was enough to win the match. Based on our performance, we did not deserve more today."
Our U17 side have come through an infernally difficult, eventful ten days. From Friday through Monday they played four matches at the Puskás-Suzuki Cup, facing teams including Real Madrid and Juventus (they beat the Spaniards and lost to the Italians in the final). Márton Bogdánfi's team had little time to rest, however, because on Saturday they played an early domestic league title decider against Vasas. The team from Budapest's 13th district had played one match more and started with a four-point lead. We went three goals down in the first half, but won the second half by the same margin we had lost the first, and two late goals rescued a point. Our team therefore remains in the title race with Vasas Kubala Academy. Vasas still have Fehérvár and MTK to play, while we face DVSC, PAFC and Várda.
Budapest Honvéd FC U17– Vasas Kubala Akadémia U17 3-3
G: Kis A. (60., 94.), Miták (83.), for Vasas Rab (17.), Molnár (31.), Kátai (33.).
Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:
"We played well in the first 15 minutes but could not score. Instead, we conceded from a corner, after which we had a fifteen-minute blackout. At half-time we discussed what we needed to change, freshened the team up and went back out with nothing to lose, determined to do everything we could. In the second half we were able to dominate, controlled the game, created many chances and deservedly equalised."
Our U15s hosted Debrecen, who are fighting for a place on the podium, in Kispest, and the teams ultimately shared the points in a two-goal match. With three rounds remaining, they are only three points behind the Hajdú-Bihar side, who sit fourth in the table. István Körtvélyesi's team still have matches against Gödöllő (11th), Kisvárda (9th) and PAFC (3rd).
Budapest Honvéd FC U15–DVSC U15 1-1
G: Vérten (53. – penalty), for DVSC Illés (24.).
Before the round, our U14s faced MTK Budapest, who were then 'only' league leaders. Following PAFC's defeat, however, the blue-and-whites built an unassailable lead and can celebrate the championship.
Budapest Honvéd FC U14–MTK Budapest U14 0-3
G: Malomsoki (29.), Vörös (33.), Mohl (38.).
Tamás Szamosi, head coach:
The league leaders came to us and we tried to prepare for them as well as possible during the week. In the first half we largely managed to carry out the defensive things we wanted, but unfortunately we conceded two avoidable goals, which caused our performance to drop mentally. We tried to freshen the team up with substitutions for the second half, and as a result we had more possession, but MTK were still confident and deservedly took the three league points.
