The training centre was busy once again as our players returned from the summer break in good spirits and got started on the tests awaiting them. As usual, the first day of pre-season began with assessments, during which the coaching staff evaluated the players' current physical condition. Mobility, strength and endurance testing again received particular emphasis, with the team set for gradually increasing loads and intensive work over the coming period. Our head coach, Maurizio Jacobacci, stressed that the most important thing is to complete pre-season without injuries and for the players to reach the right level of fitness by the start of the campaign.
“Well, today was about the assessments, which are of course essential for pre-season. For me, the real training work only starts tomorrow, because today the fitness coach took centre stage with the tests, blood work and other examinations. As I mentioned before, the facilities here at the academy are excellent: we have plenty of pitches where we can carry out high-quality work. I am really looking forward to tomorrow's first training session with the team, whom I met for the first time today. I am happy to be here” – said our head coach, before stressing that demanding weeks lie ahead for the team.
“The most important thing is that we get through the entire preparation period without injuries and that all our players are fit by the start of the season. Six hard weeks lie ahead of us: we will work and train a great deal, and we will also have friendly matches. The key will be to work with the right mentality every day and reach a physical condition that allows us to start the league well.”
