The match began under far from ideal circumstances. Honvéd BKE had to do without Komora, Youla, Gálvölgyi, Lázár, Andric, Lukács and Sinkó. On top of that, after half an hour Bence Lannert also had to be substituted because of injury. The artificial pitch did not suit our team either, as the 'overfilled' granulate slowed the ball down.
We started well and after just over fifteen minutes we led by three goals through a Trembulyák brace and a Kamber strike (0–3). Before half-time the hosts pulled one back through Füle (1–3). Our side began the second half disastrously, with the home team scoring three goals in four minutes to turn the match around (4–3). We then reorganised, Kamber equalised in the 57th minute, and ten minutes later Rajz gave Honvéd the lead again (4–5). We enjoyed the advantage for only four minutes, as Hegedűs equalised for the opponents (5–5). It already looked as though the teams would share the points when, two minutes before the final whistle, Miklós Rajz scored twice to make it 5–7.
Honvéd BKE played a match packed with twists and turns. The quickly established three-goal lead disappeared within minutes early in the second half. Honvéd created many chances, hit the woodwork, saw defenders clear off the line, and the home goalkeeper was in excellent form, producing top-class saves. For a long time it seemed our side might unexpectedly drop points, but the sting came at the end, as Rajz’s brace secured the win for Honvéd.
Of our rivals, Ferencváros won while MTK drew 4–4 with Pénzügyőr. After the round, our lead over MTK and Ferencváros increased to six points. In round 18, on Monday April 14 at 19:30, we host ISSIMO.
