Szabolcs Földi, head coach:
On the first day we needed two matches before we reached the right physical and mental state. After that, our ball-winning in particular worked very well. Following transitions we also had several good individual initiatives that made us dangerous, but our decisions were a little late or inaccurate at the moments when we needed to break through, and we did not convert our clear chances at a good enough rate either. In organising our play we lacked confidence; because of the tight spaces and particularly dynamic opponents, our game became somewhat too direct and we played more long balls in behind than necessary. We need to keep working so that we remain confident in this phase of the game even under heavy pressure. By the next day we were missing our usual quick reactions in transitions and the decisiveness in duels; we showed what we are capable of only in short spells, so the final placing is realistic. Overall, we are proud of the children and we also thank the parents for their support. Geri Tamási, a youth coach from Ikarus BSE, was with us as part of our cooperation, travelling with the team and helping our community while gaining further international experience. We look forward to welcoming him again.
