Two of our teams did not play at the weekend, but those that did all won. Three of our teams await the continuation from second place.

Two of our academy teams were not in action over the weekend: neither our U19 nor our U17 side took to the pitch. Because of the international break, we will also have to wait a few more days for the action to resume. Our U19s visit Illés Akadémia on October 17, while our U17s travel to Felcsút to face PAFC on October 18; both teams currently sit second in their respective leagues.

Our U16s, however, hosted MTK Budapest at the Academy. István Körtvélyesi had a very small squad at his disposal and his team fell behind relatively early. In the second half, though, they managed to turn the game around, extending their unbeaten run to four matches. They have won three of those games and climbed to second place in the standings – helped by DVSC's defeat to Fradi. Another 'six-pointer' awaits our U16s at the weekend, when they face the Hajdú-Bihar side.

Budapest Honvéd U16–MTK Budapest U16 2–1

Honvéd: Székely – Marinyák, Kralicsek, Horváth-Garaba, Solymos (Gerebenes, 92.), Hegyes, Barton, Rotár, Völgyi (Meggyes, 57.), Hajagos, Ortó (Kardos, 20.).

G: Solymos (62.), Hajagos (77. – from a penalty), and Piróth (18.)

Following last week's draw against PAFC, our U15s recorded their first win by defeating Vasas Kubala Akadémia at the weekend. Tamás Szamosi's team travel to bottom-placed Kisvárda on Saturday, meaning their unbeaten run could stretch to three matches.

István Körtvélyesi, head coach:

It was a very good feeling to see a real team on the pitch, one that stayed focused from start to finish. Everyone wanted to get the most out of themselves, and that produced the result. We trained with very low numbers throughout the week and we also had to make a forced substitution during the match, but nothing unsettled the boys. We stuck to the match plan throughout, and our mentality spoke for itself. It is always good to win a derby, but this one felt especially good for everyone. Congratulations to everyone!

Budapest Honvéd U15–Vasas Kubala Akadémia U15 2–0

Honvéd: Petró – Török (Schill, 41.), Nyiri, Józsa (Palásti, 69.), Menyhárt, Magyar A., (Pisont, 54.), Vass A. (Tőzsér, 41.), Varga B., Szabó D. (Kovács N., 69.), Szijjártó, Malomsoki.

G: Nyiri (47.), Malomsoki (53. – from a penalty).

Tamás Szamosi, head coach:

This was the kind of match in which everything we have wanted to see from the boys recently came through. In every respect, our will prevailed in this game. We created a huge number of chances, while our opponents played virtually the entire match without a shot on goal, which clearly showed our team's unity today. We are happy with this success, we move on and prepare for the next match.

Our U14 side suffered defeat away to PAFC last week after two wins, and this time Gergely Fűzfa's players did not face an easy task either. We travelled to Kisvárda and ultimately brought all three points home. That was thanks to Marte Miron, who scored for the fourth consecutive match and now leads the scoring chart with six goals.

Várda Labdarúgó Akadémia U14–Budapest Honvéd FC U14 0–1

Honvéd: Ehmann –Karácsony, Oláh-Sebők (Palaga, 55.), Horváth B., Babalola T. (Hanzély, 2.), Marte, Oke (Nnadi Chukwuemeka, 41.), Keindl, Kovács B., Tóth G. (Kamber, 41.), Gerencsér (Rácz, 43.).

G: Marte (66.)

Gergely Fűzfa, head coach:

It was an instructive match for both the players and the coaching staff. It does not happen often that one player has to come off because of injury during the warm-up, another early in the first half, another right at the beginning of the second half, and another midway through the half. As a result, several players had to prove themselves in unfamiliar positions. The match was characterised by many duels, second balls and long balls, and the boys embraced that challenge superbly! We managed to beat a good Kisvárda side, who I am sure will win several more matches this season. As for us, we know the areas we need to develop and we want to keep improving them in training during the week. Huge congratulations to the boys for their mentality and team spirit! Today they were a true Kispest team with a capital K!
