Ajka come to the Bozsik Aréna on Sunday, where we will play our second home match of the 2024/2025 season. We beat the green-and-whites in both league meetings last season, and we hope this time will be no different and that, following the victory against Tatabánya, we can celebrate another home success.
Our club got a new owner this week and on Thursday we terminated head coach Aurél Csertői’s contract by mutual agreement, so our two assistant coaches, Djordje Kamber and István Paulik, will lead the team in the weekend league match. Djordje Kamber worked as interim coach for two matches last season and had previously experienced a similar situation as a player, so he knows this type of situation well.
“In this situation, the important thing is not to turn the team upside down or suddenly start practising something completely different. The key is to shut out the external circumstances and focus solely on Sunday’s match – stressed Djordje Kamber. – As a player I fought until the final moment, and as a coach I also believe that we have to keep pushing forward without compromise, for victory and for Honvéd. We have had four training sessions since Aurél Csertői’s departure. Alongside the training, we also tried to talk to the players as much as possible so that we can prepare for Sunday’s league match as well as possible physically, tactically and mentally. We have tried to strengthen the lads mentally too, so that they believe in themselves and take to the pitch with enough confidence. If we play the way we plan to and the way we are capable of, then we can beat Ajka.”
