After three consecutive wins, our U19 side travelled to Kisvárda, who were still fourth in the table before the round. The teams started the match level on points, but the home side ultimately took all three and moved up to second. The top of the table remains extremely tight: only three points separate seventh from second. László Takács's players have four matches remaining, in succession against Paks (11th), DVTK (5th), MTK (7th) and DVSC (8th).
Várda Labdarúgó Akadémia U19–Budapest Honvéd FC U19 2-1
Goals: Abdullahi (16.), Blyzniuk (66.), for Honvéd Gáspár (23.).
Referee: Kósa György (Debreceni Sándor, Onder Gábor).
László Takács, head coach:
“We did not start badly and had opportunities, then we misjudged a long goal kick and fell behind from it. We managed to equalise relatively quickly after a corner. For the rest of the half Kisvárda had more possession but did not create chances. Twice we went through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but could not take the lead. The second half looked similar to the first: they had more of the ball, we had the bigger chances. Our opponent's strength was shown by the fact that they immediately punished one defensive lapse and retook the lead, and we had no answer after that.”
After beating Illés Academy, Márton Bogdánfi's team again collected all three points as expected, keeping pace with Vasas, who currently have a four-point lead and have played one match more. Our U17 side – featuring Erik Kovács, Viktor Petrók and Zsombor Liziczay, all of whom have already debuted for the senior team – will face the Angyalföld side after the Puskás-Suzuki Cup.
Budapest Honvéd FC U17–DVTK U17 2-1
Goals: Milicz (13.), Nyers (25.), for DVTK Terejánszki (80.).
Referee: Gyana Gergely (Ujhelyi Norbert, Zimonyi Péter).
Thanks to a comfortable seven-goal victory and another Vasas slip, Viktor Petrók's team moved to the top of the table and are in a strong position with three rounds remaining. Patrik För is now second in the league's scoring chart with 15 goals, Tamás Somogyi scored a hat-trick and Martin Bogdán scored twice. Our final three opponents will be ETO FC Győr (6th), ZTE FC (9th) and DVTK (11th).
MTK Budapest U16–Budapest Honvéd FC U16 1-8
Goals: Somogyi (11., 33., 62.), För (19.), Bogdán (36., 57.), Ferencz (65.), Acsai (90.).
Referee: Visnyei Bendegúz (Balogh I. Zoltán, Tóth Szabolcs).
Our U14s won an important match and, thanks to the victory, moved ahead of the Szombathely side in the table. Tamás Szamosi's team are having an excellent spring: they have won four of their last five league matches.
Budapest Honvéd FC U14–Illés Akadémia 3-2
Goals: Hegedűs (44.), Fürjes (58., 63.), for Illés Akadémia Angler (25.), Varga B. (51.).
Referee: Szuhodovszki István (Mindák Marcell, Dombi Lehel).
Tamás Szamosi, head coach:
"This match was a roller coaster. The strength of our team is shown by the fact that we managed to equalise from a losing position twice and then went on to win. We prepared a lot for this match and that work paid off."
