Antal Stefán, video analyst:
“On Wednesday afternoon, our U19 team visited Hódmezővásárhely, who play in the NB III South-East Group. After an initial period of adjustment, we took control and quickly went two goals up, with Rupert Komlósi leading the way. The hosts pulled one back after the drinks break, but following a fine piece of play by Lorca Domján, Boti Horváth-Garaba scored his first U19 goal. After half-time, the home side had more of the play, but thanks to our excellent defending they were unable to turn that into chances. In fact, Patrik Érsek finished off a fine counterattack to make the final score 1–4.”

Tamás Szamosi, head coach:
“We have just played a very useful match against the Serbian side Čukarički! Our opponents were extremely quick and well organised, so we needed excellent concentration and discipline throughout. They tried to exploit their speed mainly on counterattacks, making it particularly important to stay alert defensively at all times. We kept a clean sheet, showing that both our defensive work and team cohesion were good. We could not score this time, although we twice got the ball past the opposition goalkeeper, only for defenders to clear off the goal line. We had plenty of possession and saw several elements of our training put into practice. We can take a lot of positives from the game, but there are still areas where we need to improve. We will keep working because we want to start the league season well!

Djordje Kamber, head coach:
“We played a useful mini-tournament at the site of the legendary Olympic training camp in Tata. We faced a very physical and quick Austrian side and a more combination-oriented Vidi team in 2 × 35-minute matches. We were the better side in both games and saw many of the things the lads had practised this week come through in their play. At times we played some really good football, did not concede a goal and showed an exemplary attitude.”
U14
Our U14s faced FK Čukarički and Videoton FC Fehérvár in a three-team mini-tournament. Although the Serbian side held a two-goal lead at half-time, Richárd Takács’s players fought back to earn a 2–2 draw. Our youngsters did not give up and, shortly afterwards, secured a convincing three-goal win against the team from Fehérvár.

Our scorers: Gál, Varga
Kispest–Honvéd FC–Videoton FC Fehérvár 3–0 (0–0)
Our scorers: Marsalla, Németh, Pályka
Squad: Alnajjar Milán, Berki Tibor, Dobos Szabolcs, Gál Vince, Izing Dávid, Jamrik Larion, Juhász Bence, Juhász Gergő, Marsalla Norbert, Németh Flórián, Pályka Béla, Pándi Máté, Pető Zente, Tóbiás Ábel, Várdai Csongor, Varga Olivér, Walkó Milán
Richárd Takács, head coach:
“We began both games at a low tempo. Both in possession and out of possession, our play fell short of expectations, as the half-time scores showed. The positive is that we managed to turn things around against both Čukarički and Vidi. In the first case that meant recovering from a two-goal deficit; in the second it brought a convincing win. That shows the youngsters’ mental strength, but even more importantly we made significant improvements in our play on both occasions. Three players from our U13s made their first appearances for us in these matches. All three deserve praise for their attitude and brave performances.”
