Our U12 team led by Szabolcs Földi finished third at the home-hosted Bozsik 100 Memorial Tournament. 1908 SZAC Budapest took second place, while Monor SE lifted the winner's trophy.

One hundred years ago, on November 28, 1925, our club legend József Bozsik, one of the greatest figures in the history of Hungarian football, was born. To mark the centenary, we wanted to pay fitting tribute to the 101-cap Hungary international, which is how the Bozsik 100 Memorial Tournament came to life. The 16-team series began last year, and following the 2025 qualifiers the final was held on Thursday, May 28, with six teams taking part. The aim of the format was to preserve and evoke the legend's memory not only on a single day.

“Our legend József Bozsik was born 100 years ago. We decided to mark the anniversary with a U12 programme series, the Bozsik 100 Cup, which we announced for our partner clubs. The final of the tournament, which began in 2025, was held on Thursday. Our aim was not to remember our legends only once, in the form of a single ceremony, but to keep their memory alive continuously. Evoking the atmosphere of the streets of Kispest, the programme series pays tribute to our club legend through carefree football.” – said our club's regional manager, Attila Vatai.

On the final day of the series, our team faced 1908 SZAC Budapest and VSD Dunakeszi in Group B, while DMTK, Ikarus BSE and Monor competed in Group A. Placement matches followed the group stage, and in the bronze-medal match our U12s defeated Ikarus BSE 3–0 thanks to goals from Alnajjar Emir Milán, Knobloch Krisztofer and Becz Milán . 1908 SZAC Budapest finished second, while Monor SE lifted the winner's trophy.

The academy's grass pitch displayed exactly the spirit we had hoped for: carefree football, heart and passion. The day became a shared football celebration for every team, and at the end of the matches the trophies and certificates were presented by Bozsik Péter, the legend's son.

Szabolcs Földi, head coach:

“Before the matches we reminded the players what an enormous figure József Bozsik was for our club and Hungarian football, and you could feel the children's desire to prove themselves, which led to a more rushed and impatient style of play. We tried too often to initiate through the central areas, switched play too little, and the dynamics of those switches were not right either. This mattered particularly in the first match, so we began the group stage with a draw. A positive was that against Dunakeszi we implemented more and more of our playing style, and against Ikarus we controlled the match throughout after the opening few minutes. Even so, we ended the day with a sense of something missing because we wanted to keep the trophy at home. We finished the tournament in third place, unbeaten and having conceded just one goal. Congratulations to every participating team, with special mention for Monor led by Péter Baranyi, who claimed the overall victory.”

The standings:

1. Monor SE
2. 1908 SZAC Budapest
3. Budapest Honvéd FC
4. Ikarus BSE
5. Dunaharaszti MTK
6. VSD Dunakeszi
