In the spring opener of the old boys championship, our team produced an excellent performance and recorded a convincing victory over Halásztelki FC. Honvéd also received the three points from the autumn fixture, although on that occasion they did not need to take to the pitch for the win because the opposition were unable to field a team, so the competition committee awarded the three points to Kispest with a 3-0 scoreline.
On Monday evening, the three points were decided on the pitch in a spectacular match. Our team made a lightning start and scored twice inside ten minutes. First Kamber spotted the opportunity and scored a stunning goal from the halfway line, then two minutes later Bárányos headed into the visitors' net. Before the break Rajz and Youla (from the penalty spot) also scored, so the destination of the three points was effectively decided in the first half.
At the start of the second half, Kispest scored three times in three minutes. In the 44th minute Kamber smashed the ball into the net, then substitute Csaba Tóth scored twice. At 7-0 the visitors were awarded a penalty, converted by Inotai. Then it was the turn of another substitute, Andric, who scored twice in seven minutes. Kamber completed the 10-1 final score.
Among our rivals, Ferencváros (6-2) and MTK (12-1) also won, so the order in the table remained unchanged. Honvéd BKE are top with 36 points, while MTK and FTC sit second and third on 30 points each.
In the next round we face Ferencváros at Népliget. The match kicks off at 19:30 on Monday, 10 March.
