Honvéd BKE's Old Boys side took to the pitch away to ISSIMO SE with a heavily depleted line-up, as several key players – including Komora, Kamber, Csaba Tóth, Bábik and Bárányos – were unavailable. Their absence was felt in the team's play, but even so we were close to victory for a long time.
The hosts took the lead quickly, in the 3rd minute, but Honvéd did not collapse: Lukács equalised in the 13th minute, then Youla headed us in front from a corner, allowing the red-and-blacks to go into the break with the lead. In the second half Honvéd had several more opportunities, but neither Youla nor Andric could convert the awarded penalties.
The missed chances came back to punish us as ISSIMO equalised in the 70th minute. Late on, Youla headed into the net again, but the referee – controversially – disallowed the goal, so the match ended 2–2.
As direct rivals FTC and MTK both won, this dropped point saw Honvéd BKE slip back to third in the table. In the next round, on Monday September 29, our team can bounce back against BAK SE at the Honvéd Academy.
