The youth championships got underway in the final days of August. Our U17 team was in Italy for an international tournament, so we requested a postponement. The match against Fehérvár FC will be made up on 4 September. Our U16 opponents Ferencváros also requested a postponement citing illness, with that fixture to be played on 11 September. Three of our teams, the U14s, U15s and U19s, did play their opening matches, all at home.
The U19s made the best start, with Takács László's side beating ETO FC Győr through a goal from Nyers Ádám. Our U14 and U15 teams, however, left the pitch on the losing side. The former were beaten by Diósgyőri VTK, the latter by MTK.

Takács László: – In the first half our play in possession was impatient and inaccurate, and we made many mistakes. The high press worked well and we managed to win the ball several times, but we were unable to create a big chance from those situations. We were solid at the back and our opponents did not have any serious goalscoring opportunities either. Early in the second half we managed to take the lead at the end of a nice move, after which we had chances to settle the match, but we lacked the necessary composure in the attacking zone. We were united and disciplined throughout, which is commendable; in terms of our play, we need to improve going forward.
