Like the ‘big boys’, our unbeaten league-leading U19 side also had a midweek match, travelling to Csongrád to face Grosics Akadémia and recording a convincing victory. We took the lead as early as the second minute, before an own goal doubled our advantage. Although the hosts pulled one back before half-time, goals from substitutes Erik Kovács and Komlósi saw us successfully negotiate Round 3 of the competition.

Márton Bogdánfi, head coach: We were greeted by very good conditions and good weather, and there was a real cup atmosphere. The same could not be said of the pattern of the game, however. The opponents defended in an organised manner and we found it difficult to break them down, because the condition of the pitch was not ideal and we were unable to dictate the tempo as much as we wanted. At the beginning of the match there was space behind the opposition, which we exploited well, but with the score in our favour we settled into their tempo and played with many technical errors and poor decisions. We improved in this respect in the second half and created more chances, but were not focused in front of goal. Overall, our victory was deserved and we are happy that everyone had the opportunity to prove themselves, but we need to improve our play and, in matches of this type, our mental state as well in the future.
