Szabolcs Földi’s assessment:
We were welcomed in excellent surroundings at the Scharr Nations Cup in Stuttgart, where in addition to German and Austrian youth teams at various levels we also played against Swiss and French top-flight clubs. It was very positive that the children were mentally much more balanced than at the previous international tournament. In many cases we were able to implement the proactive and sufficiently aggressive defending that characterises our team, as well as the creative attacking play in which the individual qualities of our players can flourish. We were very satisfied with every player. We received positive confirmation that the spirit that defines our everyday work – our work ethic, attitude and commitment – were important ingredients in assessing the tournament as a success both in terms of the football we played and the final result. I thank my colleagues Dávid Koritár and Ferenc Istók for working smoothly together and thinking collectively to help the children get the most out of themselves, and we also thank the parents for their support; many of them accompanied the team even this far from home.
