As reported earlier, our youth teams have had a busy weekend: our U13 and U14 sides achieved great success in Croatia, while our U15 team returned home with a bronze medal from Serbia.
In addition, our younger age groups represented our club in Wildon, Austria, where Árpád Kovács's squad finished in the top 16 at the 28-team tournament. Our head coach emphasized that the tournament provided many valuable lessons that contributed to the children's development. Alongside our U12 team, the youngest also took to the pitch in Wildon: our U7s participated in an international tournament for the very first time. Our youngsters played eight matches, wrapping up the tournament with two wins, two draws, and four defeats. Zsombor Polónyi highlighted that the children fought enthusiastically and persistently throughout the entire day, celebrating every single block and goal with equal joy.

Árpád Kovács, head coach:
"The tournament was played 6+1, although we already play 8+1 matches in this age group. Unfortunately, we couldn't show our best side. Against less strong opponents, we missed a lot of clear-cut chances, and against stronger teams, we made many individual technical errors, often right in front of our own goal. I felt a lack of intensity in the duels throughout, and our reactions were very slow in both positive and negative transitions. Despite this, we often managed to showcase our style of play on the ball, but mistakes were immediately punished on the small pitch. We still managed to qualify from the group, and in the round of 16 against Sturm Graz we played very well, leading the match throughout and creating several great chances. However, in the final seconds, our opponents equalized from a counter-attack, and after the penalty shootout, we were unfortunately eliminated, thus bowing out in the round of 16 of the 28-team tournament. Overall, I was able to draw a lot of conclusions from this tournament, which will also aid the children's development."

Zsombor Polónyi, head coach:
"We visited Austria with our youngest players for the U7 Styrian Cup in Wildon. Everything was new for the kids; they took part in an international tournament for the first time, playing 4+1 on a bigger pitch, with more players, and with a goalkeeper. This is not yet customary in this age category, so in many situations the kids were still acting on instinct. There were some very good individual performances, and by the end of the day, several of them began to think as a team. What brings me particular joy is that the children fought together throughout the entire day and celebrated every single defensive save and goal just as much, no matter who made it. Once these instinctive actions turn into conscious play, they will handle these challenges much more easily. I am proud of my team."
