Ujváry Ferenc joined our academy in the 2022/23 season, first wearing the Honvéd shirt with our U15 team. The young defender then progressed through the age groups and, thanks to his development, also earned opportunities in NB III. Last season proved to be a defining stage of his career, as he made his Merkantil Bank Liga debut and went on to make 24 appearances, helping our first team with one goal. He was also trusted in the Hungarian Cup semi-final against ZTE FC.
Our home-grown player Gáspár Dávid is also leaving after spending eight seasons with Honvéd. The right-footed midfielder began his career with our U12 age group and in recent years received regular playing time with our second team while also featuring for the U19 side. Last season he made six appearances in the second division and was named in the starting line-up for the Hungarian Cup round-of-16 tie against ESMTK.
Although both players were still under contract with our club, we wanted to keep them and therefore offered them long-term contracts and a clear pathway. During the negotiations, however, it became clear that both the players and their agents preferred a move. Újpest FC acquired their playing rights for a transfer fee.
