We host Kozármisleny at the Bozsik Arena from 19:00 on Saturday in Round 25 of the Merkantil Bank Liga. Ferenc Ujváry spoke about the upcoming home league match, the team and the experience he gained with the national side.

As is known, last Sunday our team suffered a 1–0 defeat away to Tiszakécskei LC. In Round 24 of the league, our opponents kept all three points at home thanks to a goal from Tamás Takács. Suspensions did not make our task any easier either: assistant coach István Márton replaced Tamás Feczkó on the bench and was also unable to call on Alex Szabó or Patrik Pinte.

“Unfortunately we lost in Tiszakécske. We had our chances but were unable to take them. Football is like that: it often punishes you, but heads up – we move on, and at home we have to grind Kozármisleny down. The suspensions do not make things easier, but I think whoever gets the opportunity from the coach is capable of taking it. That is why we are a good team: whoever plays, proves himself. We have slipped back to second place, which obviously has an effect, but our fate is still in our own hands” – said our 17-year-old player.

After a month, our players can once again take the field at home, as we host seventh-placed Kozármisleny at the Bozsik Arena on Saturday. We have met Kozármisleny seven times in total, with a record of two wins and five defeats. The sides last met in Round 10, when Mátyás Czuczi's team edged us by one goal, so we have every reason to seek revenge.

“It is much better to play at home in front of our supporters, but I think we approach every match as if it were a league final, and that is no different away or at home. In the autumn they unfortunately kept all three points at home. We have not forgotten that, and this time we want to win.”

Ferenc Ujváry – together with Ádám Nyers and Teó Balázs – took part in European Championship qualifiers with Hungary U18 between March 22 and April 1. Máté Gerliczki's side finished second in the group, so they will continue in League A of the European Championship qualifying series in the autumn. Our young defender contributed an assist to the success.

“I returned from the national team with very good experiences. It was great to test myself at international level and gain experience. We were able to play against the best players from different countries, and we know the French are no pushovers. We gathered a lot of useful experience that we can bring back into Hungarian football.”
