A difficult match awaited our team, who had led the table with a perfect record before the round, as they travelled to last season's U17 champions Vasas Kubala Akadémia. Márton Bogdánfi's side fell behind in the first half, but Ádám Nyers's late goal earned us a point. This weekend our U19s host PAFC. MTK Budapest moved to the top of the table, while our U19 side currently sit second.

G: Kátai (43.), and Nyers (87.).
Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:
Our attitude and mentality were right. We dominated throughout the first half but created few chances, while a lot of inaccuracy and technical errors characterised our play. We were lacking in duels and aggression. Unfortunately we could not convert any of the few chances we had, while after an individual error we conceded just before half-time, which came at a bad moment psychologically. In the second half we did everything we could, but Vasas defended in an organised way and stood firm. In the end we managed to rescue a draw, but I think if we had made better decisions in certain situations in the attacking third, we could even have had a chance to win. Overall the draw was fair. In matches like these we need to keep the ball more and play calmly despite being behind. We learned from this match, drew the conclusions and now move on with our focus already on the next opponent.
Our U17s were also away at Vasas and, just like the older age group, they also finished level. Gergő Varsányi scored twice for the hosts and Patrik Érsek twice for us, but even so Viktor Petrók's players remain top of the table and host Fradi at the weekend.
Vasas Kubala Akadémia U17–Budapest Honvéd FC U17 2–2 (2–1)
Honvéd: Liziczay (Balogh B., 46.) – Ferencz, Schwarcz, Szőke (Baki, 84.), Bokor, Érsek, Martin (Shodunke, 76.), Domján (Balaskó, 64.), Bogdán (Csákány, 46.), Varga Z., Kovács Á.
G: Varsányi G. (24., 32.), and Érsek (14., 80.).
Viktor Petrók, head coach:
For most of the match we played with the right approach, followed our principles and tried to take the initiative. I feel a little sorry for the team because we invested a great deal of energy and even while behind tried to keep playing in our style. It would have been good feedback for the boys if we had managed to win the game this way.
Our U16s hosted PAFC and although Martin Vérten scored twice, the teams ultimately shared the points. István Körtvélyesi's side currently sit fourth, but leaders Várda are only three points ahead. At the weekend our team travels to bottom side ZTE FC.

G: Vérten (17., 64.) Bajkó (49.), and Horváth K. (74.).
István Körtvélyesi, head coach:
We played very organised and dynamic football. I think we managed to get on top of our opponents from the very first moment. Defensively everyone knew their role, we used the spaces well, moved together and supported one another effectively. In attack we kept trying to play football throughout. I feel our game is starting to contain increasingly mature, adult solutions, which is very good. The approach is right and our style shows in every moment. Based on the chances, we should have won the match, but we are not dissatisfied. Two good teams played against each other. Congratulations on the goals and the performance!
Our U15 side hosted DVTK at the Academy. The match did not start badly for us, as Józsa's goal gave our team the lead and it looked as though it might even hold until the end, but the visitors turned the game around within fifteen minutes in the second half. Next week our U15s travel to Felcsút.
Budapest Honvéd FC U15–DVTK U15 1–2 (1–0)
Honvéd: Petró – Nyiri (Matyó, 70.), Palásti, Pisont (Magyar A., 55.), Józsa, Tőzsér (Vass, 51.), Varga B., Szabó D., Szijjártó, Malomsoki, Gerebenes (Schill, 41.).
G: Józsa (18.), and Váradi (60.), Farkas (75.).
Tamás Szamosi, head coach:
In the first half we played and approached the match the way we had wanted to see for weeks. We controlled the game, passed the ball a lot and created chances. In the second half we could have scored three times if we had made better decisions in front of the opposition penalty area. But, as so often happens, the many missed chances came back to punish us! DVTK equalised after a corner, then took the lead following an individual defensive error. We threw everything forward, but could not find an equaliser.
What did not work for the older age groups did work for the U14s. Gergely Fűzfa's players beat Vasas with a confident performance and, in terms of points dropped, sit third in the league after leaving the pitch as winners for the second consecutive match. Next week our team travels to Felcsút to face the current second-placed side.
Budapest Honvéd FC U14–Vasas Kubala Akadémia U14 2–0 (2–0)
Honvéd: Mező – Málint, Oláh-Sebők, Horváth B., Babalola, Marte (Kovács B., 58.), Oke, Palaga (Karácsony, 51.), Kamber (Keindl, 62.), Rácz, Hanzély (Tóth G., 58.).
G: Marte (24. – from a penalty, 39.)
Gergely Fűzfa, head coach:
We managed to earn a fine win against a strong Vasas side. We could have extended our two-goal first-half lead early in the second half, but unfortunately we could not score, so the end of the match became tense. Overall we played with many technical errors, but on behalf of the whole staff we take our hats off to the boys because even in the great heat they fought for one another throughout, played good football in spells and managed to win!
