Another successful week for our age-group teams: our U19 side earned a convincing seven-goal win over Vasas, while our academy players also collected important league points in the younger age groups.

U19

In the U19 competition, Márton Bogdánfi's side recorded a seven-goal home victory over Vasas Kubala Academy. Our team went into half-time with a three-goal lead, and after the break our players kept scoring at regular intervals. Péter Milicz, Teó Balázs, Dávid Gáspár, Márk Szelényi and Álmos Horváth each scored once, while Ádám Nyers contributed two goals. Our age-group side are just two points behind leaders MTK and travel to Felcsút in the next round.

Márton Bogdánfi, head coach:

“The players showed their character again. Victories like these do not come for free: they put in an enormous amount of work every single day, both on and off the pitch. We deserved to win by this margin as well.”

U17

Our U17 team beat Vasas Kubala Academy 2–0 in Round 15 thanks to goals from Loránd Domján and Patrik Érsek. Viktor Petrók's side are second in the table with 32 points, level on points with leaders MTK. In Round 16 they visit third-placed Ferencvárosi TC.

Elite League, Round 15

Budapest Honvéd FC–Vasas Kubala Academy 2–0 (0–0)

Honvéd: Czinki, Ferencz, Schwarcz, Varga-Sós, Szanka, För, Érsek (58.), Molnár, Domján (Szőke 84.), Kovács (Kralicsek 46.), Varga (Solymos 77.), Bokor

Goals: Domján (59.), Érsek (64.)

Viktor Petrók, head coach:

“Our game was a little laboured in the first half, we made many unforced technical errors and could not really control the rhythm of the match. We played the entire second half with ten men, but defended well with patience, organisation and a huge amount of energy. After winning the ball we transitioned into attack effectively and, besides our goals, created several other good chances. The team showed character – congratulations to them!”

U16

Our U16 side earned a 2–1 away victory over PAFC in Round 15 of the elite league. After a goalless first half, Kornél Solymos and Hunor Hajagos found the net. Although the hosts pulled one back through Ádám Kovács, István Körtvélyesi's team left Felcsút with all three points. Like our U19s, we are second in the league, one point behind leaders MTK. In Round 16 we host ZTE FC at the Bozsik Arena.

Elite League, Round 15

PAFC–Budapest Honvéd FC 1–2 (0–0)

Honvéd: Bohon, Mészáros, Erdős, Varga (Bajkó 46.), Tóth-Ludvai (Berze 69.), Mester (Iszkra 81.), Mészáros, Horváth (Kovács 60.), Erdei, Gulyás, Csákári

Goals: Solymos (59.), Hajagos (72.)

István Körtvélyesi, head coach:

“We played an exciting but predictable match. In the first half we were organised and allowed our opponents to come a little higher, trying to attack the spaces behind them with quick moves. In the second half we changed shape and put them under greater pressure, which helped us win the match. Alongside our tactical discipline – especially in the second half – our football was also dominant. It was a very difficult match, but this is how you have to win a derby! Congratulations to the team on the victory!”

U15

Tamás Szamosi's side suffered a 2–1 away defeat to DVSC in Round 13. After the match, head coach Tamás Szamosi said his team played much better after the break and, although they had the chances to erase the deficit, they ultimately left without a point.

Goal: Józsa (55.)

Tamás Szamosi, head coach:

“We started the match very badly: we lost almost every duel and could not find our own rhythm in the first half. After the break we played much better and had every opportunity to make up the deficit, but we only have ourselves to blame for not managing to do so.”

U14

Our U14 side played out a goalless draw with MTK in Round 19. Head coach Djordje Kamber praised his team's attitude. Although our academy players played with discipline, there were moments when they did not take enough risks.

Elite League, Round 19

MTK Budapest–Budapest Honvéd FC 0–0 (0–0)

Honvéd: Ehmann, Karácsony, Málint, Oláh-Sebők (Horváth 48.), Babalola (Palaga 61.), Tóth (Kovács 55.), Marte (Oke 55.), Babos, Kamber, Rácz, Hanzély (Keindl 61.)

Djordje Kamber, head coach:

“We can be pleased with the point we earned away against one of the best teams, although by the end of the match we could even have taken all three. Defensively we played a good game: we were disciplined and fought for one another from start to finish. With the ball, however, we were not brave enough and did not take risks in certain moments. We rushed too often and were not calm enough. Congratulations to the boys for the excellent fighting spirit and attitude, but in organising our play we need to be much better and braver.”
