Our U19 team claimed a 3–0 victory over Budai FC to stay atop the table. Although our U17 side suffered a 2–1 defeat against Ferencváros, with nine points they remain firmly among the frontrunners.

U19

Following their five-goal win against Vasas, Márton Bogdánfi's side continued their campaign against Budai FC. A fierce battle had developed at the top: ahead of round 5, our team entered from the summit of the table, but ZTE FC, Budai FC, and ETO FC were also on seven points, meaning all four sides started the matchday level on points. However, our U19 side kept all three points at home thanks to goals from Zalán Varga, Ádám Csörgő, and Rupert Komlósi, and now lead the table level on points with ZTE. Our youngsters will continue their league campaign in round six away at MTK Budapest.

Elite League, Round 5

Kispest–Honvéd FC–Budai FC 3–0 (1–0)

Lineup: Czinki – Ferencz, Schwarcz (Kimmel 75'), Csörgő, Szanka, Komlósi, Varga Z. (Joó 75'), Érsek (Domján 54'), Molnár (För 75'), Bokor (Kis L. 54'), Balaskó

Goalscorers: Varga Z. (32'), Csörgő (51'), Komlósi (90')

Márton Bogdánfi, head coach: „Both teams were level on points before the match, so we knew we would be facing a motivated, well-organized side. That proved to be the case: in the first half, our opponents looked to launch counter-attacks from a disciplined defensive shape, causing us problems on two or three occasions. In the second half, we took much better care of the ball. Our opponents defended very deep, resulting in a battle of attrition. Overall, we controlled the game well and earned a deserved win.”

U17

In round five of the championship, our U17 team hosted Ferencváros at the academy. The Green and Whites took the lead in the 30th minute, but our academy boys responded quickly: in the 39th minute, Hunor Hajagos found the net, sending the sides into the break tied at 1–1. The scoreline remained unchanged for much of the second half until Zalán Taksonyi netted the winning goal for the visitors in the 76th minute. Although our team came away without points, they remain in the upper echelons of the table, sitting third with nine points.

Elite League, Round 5

Kispest–Honvéd FC–Ferencvárosi TC 1–2 (1–1)

Lineup: Székely – Marinyák, Kralicsek, Solymos, Domány (Vérten 70'), Hegyes, Rotár (Meggyes 78'), Völgyi (Érsek 70'), Hajagos, Szijjártó, Szabó (Babalola 78')

Goalscorer: Hajagos (39')

Viktor Petrók, head coach:

„We didn't look good in the opening 10–15 minutes of each half. However, it is encouraging that we managed to bounce back and get our game together. For this to translate into results, we need to learn to shut out external factors, play with more focus, and make better, more effective decisions in front of the opponent's goal. To improve, the most we can do is put the work in during weekdays in training.”

It was an extraordinary weekend for our U14 and U15 teams, as both age groups represented our academy at international tournaments. Richárd Takács's squad competed in Croatia, where they achieved extraordinary success: defeating Manchester United in the final to celebrate their sixth consecutive international tournament victory! Our U15s tested themselves in Novi Sad and also performed brilliantly, marching all the way to the podium and returning home with bronze medals. Detailed reports from the tournaments will follow soon!
