Our age-group teams have come through a series of tight matches.

Our U19 side, third in the National Elite Championship, travelled to Győr, who were 10th before the round.

ETO FC Győr U19–Budapest Honvéd U19 1-0

Scorer: Black (60.).

László Takács, head coach:

"Two teams of similar strength met. We did not start the match well, we were timid on the ball and made many technical mistakes. Our play without the ball was relatively stable. At the end of the first half we had two chances to score, but we failed to convert them. Our play in possession improved in the second half and on several occasions we managed to get into the attacking zone, but there we did not make good decisions. We fell behind and, although we got into promising situations after that, we did not create a really serious scoring chance in the second half."

Our age-group team began the round in second place, but thanks to our win over Fehérvár and Vasas dropping points, Márton Bogdánfi's side now lead the U17 National Elite Championship after 12 rounds. Bogdánfi was replaced on the bench at the weekend by Csaba Tóth due to illness.

Budapest Honvéd FC U17–Fehérvár FC U17 2-0 (2-0)

Scorers: Kis (32.), Bogdán (37.).

Csaba Tóth:

"We started the match well and played dominantly. Our pressing worked very well and won us the ball many times in the attacking third. Our transitions were quick too, and several times we exploited the opposition's lack of organisation, but unfortunately we made poor decisions with our finishing, so this was not reflected in the score. At first we played too directly when building attacks, which led to several unnecessary losses of possession. At half-time we discussed a few things and the boys implemented them very well, allowing us to put even more pressure on the opposition. We played with much more patience and switched the point of attack more often, which enabled us repeatedly to get in behind them down the flanks and create chances. Because our rest defence was good, we could keep Fehérvár under constant pressure and were far superior in possession as well. Unfortunately we were neither lucky nor sharp in front of goal today. We need to improve in that area, but we are happy with the performance and the result, and this gives us something to build on for the future."

Our U16 side, however, had no luck this time. After taking the lead they conceded two quick goals and, with PFLA from Felcsút taking all three points against Illés Akadémia, we slipped back to second place.

Budapest Honvéd FC U16–Ferencváros U16 1-2 (0-0)

Scorers: För (65.), for Ferencváros Galambos (80.), Bíró (87.).

Viktor Petrók, head coach:

"There were encouraging periods in every phase of our play. Once we had the lead, we should have played with more patience. On several occasions we reacted badly to losing the ball, and the opposition created dangerous situations from these moments and from set pieces. I feel sorry for the boys; we did not deserve to lose, although winning in football is not always a matter of merit. We have to learn from our mistakes, distance ourselves better from the circumstances and focus on ourselves!

MTK Budapest U15–Budapest Honvéd FC U15 3-0 (1-0)

Scorers: Angyal (12., 50.), Vasziljevics (66.).

István Körtvélyesi, head coach:

"Individually, MTK had players of serious quality, but I felt our team was better organised. We were able to play both short and long continuously, we made progress in this aspect of our game and put together some particularly attractive attacks. We created chances but were not efficient, and we need to improve in that area. Our defending may have been a little over-cautious, but from the players' perspective that was somewhat understandable. We gifted the opposition the goals we conceded, and MTK deserved the victory. With sharper finishing, greater assertiveness and higher-quality refereeing, the match could have been closer."

Budapest Honvéd FC U14–Ferencváros U14 0-2 (0-0)

Scorers: Palásthy (64.), Gyepes (80.).

Tamás Szamosi, head coach:

"Looking at the match as a whole, unfortunately I have to say the visitors deserved their win! There were some very good periods in the game that we will benefit from in upcoming matches. However, we still have a lot of work to do on our attacking play."
