On a slightly chilly Monday evening, our Old Boys took to the pitch as champions already. While there was cause to celebrate, our players were also careful not to let visitors Biatorbágy spoil the occasion. Trembulyák set the tone by beating Zabos as early as the 3rd minute. Youla scored in the 10th minute, Rajz added a spectacular goal in the 13th, and three minutes later Youla struck again. Our team went into the break six goals ahead.
The pattern of the game did not change in the second half either. Honvéd continued to play excellent football and kept adding goals. The visitors, relying on their quick forwards, tried occasional counter-attacks, and they were rewarded in the 57th minute when Zsolt Varga scored their consolation goal. Andric's last-minute strike brought the match to a close.
Our team produced genuine exhibition football, playing an attractive, superb game and scoring beautiful goals. Youla once again led the scoring, putting no fewer than eight past the visitors. Some of our goals were even applauded by those sitting on the Biatorbágy bench.
Our team finished top of the table, nine points clear of second-placed Ferencváros and third-placed MTK. Honvéd BKE ended the league campaign with 21 wins and one draw, with a goal difference of 135–18. The top scorer also came from Kispest: Souleymane Youla scored 49 goals, 17 more than runner-up Dusan Vasiljevic (MTK). Three more Kispest players finished in the top ten: Miklós Rajz scored 21, Nemanja Andric 14 and Djordje Kamber 13 goals.
