As is known, Ákos Zuigeber came on as a substitute in the second half of the league match against Ajka. Although our forward also came close to giving us the lead, it was eventually Ádám Gyurcsó who found the net of István Szabados in the 86th minute.
“I think there were things we needed to improve in our first-half performance. In my opinion, the second half looked much better: we created big chances and finally managed to score as well. I think that required our game to gain momentum after the break. It also shows the strength of the team: we keep fighting until we manage to score. The fact that I did not manage to score with the overhead kick is obviously part of football; I think it is one of the hardest techniques in the game. I did not get upset about it, we just have to keep going” – said our 23-year-old player, before continuing:
“We believe we can score in any minute of a match, so we do not tend to get too nervous. I think that shows during games as well. We have players who are capable, individually or as a team, of producing a moment of quality that can win a match for us” – our player concluded, stressing that we will need to be more focused in front of goal.
On Saturday, in our second away match of the year, we visit fifth-placed Csákvár. Our opponents last won away to Soroksár in November, but this year they have managed to earn draws against both Vasas and BVSC. We last faced Balázs Tóth's side last summer in Round 5, when two goals from Ádám Szamosi and one from Zoltán Medgyes gave us a 3–1 victory.
“They have shown during the league season so far that they are capable of taking points off big teams. It will not be an easy match, but if we play the football we know we can play, we can definitely bring home all three points.”
There were changes in our opponents' squad during the winter transfer window as well: Zsolt Magyar left, while Zalán Gregor returned to the club. Although the transfer window has already closed, free agents can still be signed, and on Wednesday the club announced a new arrival. According to the statement, the small squad and injuries meant an experienced player who could be used immediately was needed, so Kristóf Herjeczki – who spent six years at our academy and made his top-flight debut in Honvéd colours – will continue his career at Csákvár.
