Today, in 2025, we celebrate the club's 116th birthday – a club that has become a source of pride not only for Kispest but for the whole country.
The glory of the past
The club's name is tied to the brightest era of Hungarian football. The Golden Team of the 1950s left a lasting legacy not only with the Hungarian national side, but also at club level here. During this period Kispest-Honvéd not only dominated domestically, but became an unavoidable force internationally as well. The following decades of Honvéd were not without notable results either: the club's second golden era in the 1980s brought several league titles, cup victories and international cup appearances. Over 116 years, generations have grown up loving the red-and-black colours. This club has not merely played matches; it has given an entire nation memories, heroic deeds and role models.
