Our second team visited league leaders Monor in Round 29 of the NB III South-East group.
Even in the first half, much more of the play took place in front of the home goal. Tasi's free-kick and Dominik Kovács's effort heading for the top-left corner both narrowly missed Pirgi's goal. At half-time, the Monor side received good news as ESMTK had lost in Óbuda, making the hosts mathematically certain of the championship already at the break. Our team came out attacking after the interval as well. In the 48th minute Dominik Kovács crossed from the left, the ball then fell to Forró, who placed his effort just wide of the bottom-right corner. A minute later at the other end, Hulicsár created a big chance for himself but curled well over from twelve metres. We took the lead in the 74th minute when Gergő Tasi met a corner from the right with an unstoppable header into the top-right corner (0–1). Eight minutes later we could have killed off the match, but after Forró's ball Szelényi volleyed from close range and Pirgi turned it behind for a corner. Gábor Kovács's side therefore deservedly left Monor with a notable scalp and all three points. Monor suffered only their second defeat of the season and their first at home in this campaign.
The season finale will be at home against Csepel in one week's time, kicking off at 17:00.
