The season in the NB III South-East Group has reached its penultimate round, and on paper our reserve side face the toughest possible task as they play away at the league leaders.
Monor lead ESMTK by four points, so István Halgas's side can take the field with double motivation: a win would guarantee the championship title and an NB II promotion play-off place for the blue-and-whites. Our opponents are still unbeaten at home and, across the 64-team NB III field, they have suffered the fewest defeats (one).
Founded: 1901
Club colours: blue and white
League position: 1.
League record: 20 wins, 7 draws, 1 defeat
Head coach: Halgas István
Top scorer: Máté Hulicsár (12 goals)
Major honours: Two-time third-tier champions (2004/05, 2017/18)
Our second team remain unbeaten against Monor under Gábor Kovács. Last season Szilveszter Hetyei was the match-winner in both meetings, while in November he rescued a point at home. However, because of a three-match suspension, of which he has already served one game, he will definitely not play again in NB III this season. Hetyei has scored ten goals this campaign, making him our second team's leading scorer. The two sides have met 21 times in league competition, with a record of 11 Honvéd wins, two draws and eight Monor victories.
Our last five competitive matches against Monor:
2025/26: Honvéd II–Monor 1–1 (Our scorer: Hetyei)
2024/25: Honvéd II–Monor 1–0 (Our scorer: Hetyei)
2024/25: Monor–Honvéd II 1–2 (Our scorer: Hetyei 2x)
2023/24: Honvéd II–Monor 3–1 (Our scorers: Menyhárt, Sz. Simon, Kalocsány)
2023/24: Monor–Honvéd II. 2–0
The match kicks off at 14:00 on Sunday at the Balassi Bálint utcai Stadion in Monor.
