Birthdays
March 30:
— Happy 66th birthday to Disztl Péternek, who as the team's goalkeeper between 1987 and 1990 celebrated two league titles and one Hungarian Cup victory. With his saves and composure, he not only guarded the goal but also won the hearts of the supporters.
— Kovács Béla, whose career was inseparably intertwined with the red-and-black colours, was born 49 years ago. Between 1988 and 2002 – apart from a two-year spell elsewhere – he wore the Honvéd shirt in 128 matches and helped the team with 16 goals. One of the brightest moments of his Kispest career was the 1996 Hungarian Cup triumph, when he lifted the trophy as a member of the winning team. Wishing him health and happiness!
— On this day our forward Varga Kevin celebrates his 30th birthday. Wishing him many happy returns and many Kispest successes!
March 31:
— Happy 70th birthday to Andrusch Józsefet, the legendary goalkeeper of Budapest Honvéd and the Hungary national team! His Kispest years coincided with one of the club's most successful periods: between 1982 and 1987 he was an indispensable pillar of the defence. During those five years he won three league titles, one league bronze medal and one Hungarian Cup with the team.
April 1:
Today we remember one of the greatest footballers the world has ever seen, the eternal star of Kispest, Hungary and world football, Puskás Ferencre, who was born on April 1 and would be 99 today. “Uncle Öcsi” became synonymous with victory and goals. In Kispest colours he was a five-time Hungarian champion, three-time runner-up and once a bronze medallist, while finishing as the domestic league's top scorer on four occasions. During his unparalleled career he conquered the world: Olympic champion, World Cup runner-up and a three-time European Cup winner with Real Madrid. The only Hungarian footballer to represent Hungarian, Spanish, European and World selections, his legacy is revived every year through the Puskás Award named after him.
— Happy 36th birthday to former Budapest Honvéd French forward David N’Gognak. He represented Bp. Honvéd between 2018 and 2020 and was part of two memorable cup runs during his Kispest career: he was a member of the 2019–2020 Hungarian Cup-winning team, while a year earlier, in 2019, he earned a silver medal in the competition.
April 3:
— Happy 29th birthday to Lukács Dánielt,, former Budapest Honvéd forward and Hungary international striker! Between 2014 and 2020 – apart from a short spell elsewhere – he belonged to Honvéd. During that period he worked his way from the youth system into the first-team squad. Thanks to his perseverance and eye for goal, his path eventually led all the way to the national team, where he scored on his debut in 2025.
— On this day our young defender Tibor Szabó celebrates his 21st birthday. Many happy returns, with a red-and-black heart!
Those who passed away
April 1:
— Ruzsa Sándor died 29 years ago. The excellent goalkeeper joined Kispesti AC in 1948 and, despite a short career there of only two years, left a lasting mark. In his first season he won a bronze medal with KAC, then in the following campaign celebrated a league title as a Budapesti Honvéd player. His performances were also recognised at international level, as he wore the Hungary shirt twice. Sándor Ruzsa died at the age of 77; we preserve his memory with respect.
— Herbacsek Bertalan died 102 years ago. The timber wholesaler and building contractor was not only a successful businessman but also a supporter of sport in Kispest. Thanks to his significant donation and effective assistance, the Kispesti AC ground on Sárkány utca was built and served as the club's home for many years. Bertalan Herbacsek also served as KAC vice-president between 1912 and 1914, making a major contribution to the development of football in Kispest through his work and support. We preserve his memory with respect and gratitude.
April 5:
— Kormos Lajos died 43 years ago. The technical, prolific centre-forward joined Kispest FC in the spring of 1931 and soon became a key player. In red and black he scored 18 goals in 48 league matches, but truly excelled in international fixtures, finding the net 35 times in 36 appearances. Lajos Kormos represented the Kispest side until 1933. We preserve his memory with respect.
