Summary of the current season:

Soroksár began the 2024/25 campaign, their eleventh consecutive season in the second tier, with three defeats and a draw. The Soroksár side came together in the second half of the autumn: from September to December they lost only two of nine matches. The Budapest team have again made a slow start in the spring, conceding four goals away at both Gyirmót and Békéscsaba, while at home they drew 1-1 against Szentlőrinc and, most recently, Szeged. Overall, they are now without a win in five second-division matches.

Squad:

From Soroksár's current squad, Gyula Csemer, Szabolcs Mergl, Szilárd Szabó, Krisztián Köböl, Ádám Bagi and Norbert Kundrák have all spent time in Kispest. Mergl, Köböl, Szabó and Bagi were only academy players here, while Csemer and Kundrák also appeared for the first team.

From our current squad, Gergő Rácz, Dominik Csontos and Tamás Csilus previously played for Soroksár.

Head-to-head history:

Our first team have met Soroksár seven times in competitive matches so far.

At first the two teams were brought together by the Hungarian Cup, for the first time in 2003. That match in Soroksár ended 1-1. As qualification was decided over a single match and extra time produced no further goals, a penalty shoot-out followed, which we won 4-1. We also played Soroksár in friendly matches in both the year before and the year after that cup tie, winning 2-1 and then 4-0 in Kispest.

Thirteen years later another cup tie in Soroksár followed, and it was not only the rain that poured down in large quantities, but the goals as well. Soroksár led 3-2 at half-time, before Vasiljevic levelled the match with a 63rd-minute goal. Unlike the 2003 cup tie, this time there was no need for penalties: first Baráth and then Youla scored during the two 15-minute periods of extra time, sending us through with a 5-3 win in an eight-goal thriller.

That year we also faced the yellow-and-blacks in a friendly, winning 2-1 thanks to a Youla brace.

In the spring of 2019 the two teams met in a two-legged cup semi-final, with a place in the Hungarian Cup final at stake. The first match was close, but Kálnoki-Kis's late header gave us a 2-1 win over the second-tier visitors. The return leg in Soroksár ended in a 3-0 Kispest victory, taking us into the final 5-1 on aggregate.

Over the past year and a half we have faced Soroksár four times: three times in the league and once in a friendly at the Bozsik Arena in July 2023. The visitors won that match 1-0.

The NB II record is balanced. From three matches there has been one Kispest win, one Soroksár win and one draw. In September 2023 we visited our fellow Budapest side, where Dávid Holman answered Balázs Lovrencsics's goal from the penalty spot to make the final score 1-1. We then hosted Soroksár last March and produced an excellent performance to win 4-1. Bence Nyitrai opened the scoring, Kerezsi then struck twice, and Attila Lőrinczy scored our fourth. Lőrinczy also found the net against Soroksár in August, although on that occasion we suffered a 3-1 defeat.
