The blue-and-whites had an excellent season last year. In addition to knocking then-NB I side Kecskemét out of the Hungarian Cup and narrowly losing their round-of-16 tie against ZTE, they won the NB III North-East Group and then overcame Nagykanizsa in the promotion play-off after a 4–4 aggregate score, earning promotion to the second tier for the first time since 2007.
Karcag started the season with defeat in Mezőkövesd, but have not lost any of their six league matches since. At home they have beaten Soroksár, Vasas and Videoton, although they remain winless away; most recently Attila Varga's side drew 0–0 in Budafok.
Fair play:
It is worth noting that the match originally drawn for the autumn was supposed to be played in Karcag, but the away sector there is being rebuilt and the club wants to ensure that an appropriate number of our supporters can attend. The sector will only be completed for the spring season, so that would not have been possible. Karcagi SC therefore asked our club and the MLSZ to swap home rights, and the parties involved agreed.
