Our team produced excellent attacking football on Sunday evening to beat Mezőkövesd 5–2. The victory brought not only three points but symbolic significance as well: for the second time in eight years, Kispest scored five goals against the side from Kövesd.
The previous such match came in NB I on May 6, 2017, when a brace from Lanzafame and goals from Eppel, Dávid Bobál and Kamber produced a 5–1 final score. That season ultimately ended with Honvéd winning the league title. This time Ákos Zuigeber followed in Lanzafame’s footsteps: he scored twice and led the attack, while our number seven also happens to top the Merkantil Bank Liga scoring chart.
The number five is special from another perspective too: this was the third time in the history of the Bozsik Aréna that Honvéd scored five goals in a competitive match.
The goal-filled wins came on February 24, 2025 against Kozármisleny (5–0), on September 29 against Karcag (5–2), and on October 26 against Mezőkövesd (5–2).
Interestingly, there was a two-goal scorer on all three occasions: Sebestyén Ihrig-Farkas against Kozármisleny, Ákos Zuigeber and Dominik Csontos against Karcag, and Ákos Zuigeber again against Mezőkövesd.
Kispest football really has been living “under the sign of five” lately – and if history repeats itself, another memorable season may be taking shape at the Bozsik Aréna.
This happened during the week (October 27 — November 2)

KAC players succeed abroad
Former KAC players are also enhancing the reputation of Kispest football abroad. Several have achieved success at their new clubs, and the local press has praised their performances.
Kispest-developed Ignác Amsell conquered Ancona. Week after week, locals talk about his incredible saves – his heroics have often been worth victories for his team.
Jenő Tóth, the former outstanding KAC half-back, first made a name for himself in Padua and is now continuing his career in Naples. His signing was greeted with great anticipation.
Károly Gyurkovics played in Switzerland for Young Fellows. His performances earned praise from the local press. The Kispest-developed footballers represented their country’s football with distinction even on foreign soil.
