After the victory over Csákvár, we entered the continuation of the Merkantil Bank Liga season top of the table after five rounds. Our opponents were Kecskemét, who had changed coach during the week, with Krisztián Tímár replacing Zoltán Gera. The purple-and-whites had collected six points fewer than us in their matches so far. Tamás Feczkó made three changes to the side that won the previous week. First, Bonifác Csonka replaced Alex Szabó, who was injured against Csákvár, while the youth-player rule led to the other changes: István Pekár replaced Ádám Somogyi and Ádám Nyers came in for Patrik Pinte. The day will certainly remain unforgettable for our 17-year-old academy graduate and the rest of the players because, although Nyers was able to make his senior debut here in ‘red and black’, only 28 minutes of the match were played. In a very short time an enormous amount of rain fell on the pitch, and the teams were effectively able to play for barely half an hour. The referee first suspended the match and, after a 30-minute break and consultation, declared the Kecskemét pitch unplayable in agreement with the head coaches and called the game off.
A decision on when and in what form the match will be completed will be made later.
