“We have never had such a short pre-season. Looking back at previous years, I cannot remember the league restarting after only a few weeks either. I think we did everything we could to make the season successful. Looking at the training camp in Turkey, I feel the work there achieved its purpose. I always say that the point of friendly matches is not to thrash our opponents and record good results. Of course that is also a goal, but the main objective is for the mistakes to come to the surface so that we can correct them later” – our player said. Speaking about the unity within the squad, he stressed that the dressing room has always had a family atmosphere, so the newcomers settled in quickly and soon managed to find the rhythm.
On Monday, in Round 16 of the Merkantil Bank Liga, we host Videoton FC Fehérvár at the Bozsik Arena. The Fehérvár side begin the spring season in 13th place with 15 points, while our team awaits the match from the top of the table. The two sides last met in the opening round of the 2025–26 campaign, when we recorded a 3–0 win away from home.
“I am really looking forward to the start of the season; on Monday we host Vidi. I hope we begin with a win and quickly find our rhythm. It would be good to start with a run that makes our task easier. We won 3–0 in the summer, and I hope we can achieve a similar result this time. I do not mind if I do not score now; the important thing is for the team to win. At home, only victory is acceptable. We expect a lot of supporters, we need their backing and we hope to collect the three points. Our goal is not only promotion but also the league title. Everyone keeps that in mind, and that should create a positive kind of pressure for all of us. We will do everything for it, and we hope that at the end of the season we can celebrate together with the supporters.”
