A special exhibition has opened at the Kispest Football House to mark the 100th anniversary of József Bozsik’s birth. The centenary exhibition entitled “Bozsik 100” opened on the eve of the milestone, paying fitting tribute to the life’s work of the former midfielder who left an enduring legacy both as a club legend and as a world-famous footballer.
At the opening, his son Péter Bozsik remembered his father in personal words, as well as the close bond that inseparably connects the family and the Bozsik name with Kispest and Honvéd.
“I always get emotional when we talk about my father or when any event connected with him takes place. When all of this happens in Kispest, it intensifies my emotions even more because our connection here is very close.
Obviously mine is different, since I was already born into a more privileged world, but my father’s attachment speaks for itself – and it rubbed off on me as well. It is a good feeling to see how beautifully Tibi and Kálmán have put this exhibition together.
It is here that you truly realise what this association – KAC and then Honvéd – achieved, what it gave to Hungarian football, what values it created and what players it developed.
It gave a great deal not only to Hungarian football, because Uncle Öcsi also conquered world football. It is very good to see this, and it feels very good to be here.”
The “Bozsik 100” exhibition presents not only the career of a legendary footballer, but also the football atmosphere of an era, the identity of a club and the entire legacy that Honvéd gave to Hungarian and international football.
The exhibition can be visited until June 30, 2026 at the Kispest Football House.
