We defeated Mezőkövesd Zsóry FC 2–1 in round 6 of the Merkantil Bank Liga. After the match, our head coach Zsolt Laczkó gave the following assessment.
“First of all, I would like to thank our supporters, because the recent period did not go the way either they or we wanted. They helped us a great deal today and once again showed that they are the ones who can create the real Kispest atmosphere. We need them very much, and that was the case again this time, so we thank them for standing by us. It was not easy after last week’s match, but the players worked extremely well all week and we were able to improve in every area. We played a good Mezőkövesd side; it is not realistic that they are near the bottom of the table. They made things difficult for us, but I feel we functioned as a team, everyone put their own contribution into the match, which we deserved to win. We made the ending difficult for ourselves, but as I said, overall the victory was deserved.“
Our head coach will spend the next week and a half with the Hungarian national team, assisting Marco Rossi, but Honvéd will also receive his attention so that the team can make the best possible use of the international break.
“I have discussed everything with my assistants, Djordje Kamber and István Paulik. We will stay in contact whenever necessary, and I know the team will be in good hands. When planning the work, we are not basing everything on the match against Mezőkövesd. We want to train and practise a lot, and use these weeks to make the team even better and to improve for what lies ahead“ – added Zsolt Laczkó.
