Information, facts and everything you need to know about Sunday's match against Paksi FC.

Our team travels to Paksi FC on Sunday for Matchday 3 of the OTP Bank Liga.As we reported earlier, the Hungarian Football Federation has changed the kick-off times for this round to save energy, so the match will start at 3:30 p.m. rather than the originally scheduled 5 p.m. We travel to Tolna unbeaten and with virtually a full squad, apart from the suspended Ákos Baki. Our hosts have played a leading role in NB I in recent seasons: György Bognár's side finished third in each of the last two campaigns and were runners-up the season before that. HISTORY

Paksi Sportegyesület was founded in 1952, so while our rivalry is relatively short compared with encounters between more traditional clubs, it has a substantial history in its own right. Sunday's meeting will be the 43rd top-flight encounter between the two sides. We have won 16 times, alongside 18 draws and just eight Paks victories. We first faced Paks on 13 November 2006, when the opening encounter ended 0–0. Three Honvéd victories followed before Paks finally ended their winless run in May 2010: only Angelo Vaccaro replied to goals by Tamás Kiss and Dániel Böde. The longest unbeaten streak in the rivalry belongs to us: from the 20th to the 30th meeting, Paks failed to beat us in eleven consecutive league games, seven of which we won.

In recent times, however, victories have proved elusive for us. Paks won the last two meetings and also knocked us out of the Hungarian Cup twice during that period. We have won six times away at Paks altogether, although half those victories came in the first ten meetings. Our most recent trip there was one to forget: in November 2022, Paks won 5–0, with Barnabás Varga among the scorers twice. Only two players remain from our team that day and are likely to feature again: Tomáš Tujvel and Alex Szabó. The latter may get his chance because Ákos Baki is suspended.
